The SYNCO XView M4 is a highly practical tool for solo journalists who need to record themselves using the superior rear cameras of their smartphones. Typically, filming with the back camera involves guesswork regarding composition, but this portable monitor solves that issue by mirroring the smartphone’s screen in real time. This ensures the journalist remains perfectly in frame and sharply focused, guaranteeing professional output without needing a second camera operator.
A major advantage of this device is its completely wireless design. It utilizes a direct peer-to-peer connection, eliminating the need for cumbersome cables, HDMI adapters, or even an active Wi-Fi network. This cable-free approach makes it highly convenient for on-the-go reporting and fast setups in the field.
To configure the device, begin by securely attaching it to the back of the smartphone using the built-in MagSafe mount or the provided magnetic ring for non-MagSafe devices. Next, turn the monitor on by sliding the power switch. On your smartphone, swipe down from the top to access the control center and activate the screen mirroring or wireless projection feature. Locate the monitor in the list of available devices, usually named “SYNCO-XXXX,” and select it. If prompted during this initial setup, enter the default PIN “1234”. Once paired, the screen will instantly display the camera’s view, and you are ready to film.
